Owning an off road motorcycle is a lot of fun for the owner. You can get some serious speeds on these motorcycles and have that adrenaline rush as you take a high jump, or when you overtake an opponent, if you do decide to race of course. There are locations all over America and Europe where you can take your off road motorcycle to it's limits, this is particularly true in Europe. There are countries such as Germany and Switzerland where there are weekends dedicated to off road motorcycle driving. You can take part in an off road time trial, or you can take on the steep mountains of Germany and Switzerland in a hill climbing challenge. The hill climb challenge seems to be for people that are heavily attached to their off road motorcycle, because if you fall off your motorcycle at a high height, then gravity will come into effect and your motorcycle will come crashing back down the mountain. This is seen as very funny to the audience, but for you it can be a pain in the wallet.
These events are not for heavy financial gain, as the cost for winning one of these races or hill climbs can only be in the region of $500, most of the motorcycle drivers will only show up for the parties that take place. Barbeques and heavy drinking are the main things to do when filling your weekend at one of these races. Also the opportunity to meet other off road motorcycle drivers from all over the world is a big reason why other people are there as well.
There are a lot of people that will only own an off road motorcycle, so that they can impress people with their aerial stunts. These people will go to a track that is designed for these aerial stunts with the intention of performing a "killer" move. The tracks are designed with a couple of tight bends and about 3 high hills, when the driver drives up one of these hills they can then fly off in to the air, while in the air they can perform a trick for the crowd of people to applaud, if they land the trick of course. This is where your safety gear comes in handy, for most tracks you will not be allowed to race on them if you do not have the correct safety gear attached to your body. All you need is a safety helmet, safety clothing and the correct wrist and knee protectors, with all these off road parts you can enjoy your off road motorcycle to it's full advantages.
